Declined banned for custom cl_updaterate?

2.) Explain what happened / why you have been banned:
I joined the server and i went idle. I was watching a youtube tutorial about networking configs. So i went to spectator mode and i changed the cl_updaterate aswell as rate, and when i do that i got client disconnected. So i tried reconnecting it said you have been banned. I checked the ban forums and it said Banned for 20 cmdnum spikes.

3.) Tell us why we should unban you:
I really didn't do anything wrong, i was trying to get a better network config, and i really enjoy playing on your servers.
