If people can get muted, and lose their privileges of talking through the mic, why can't that be done same with typing? Or to communicate at all? Makes banning someone look pointless. Unless someone's cheating, or loadouts and sprays are offensive.

Rules are rules.
Administrators usually gag people who are mildly toxic or spam binds a lot. (Lenny, trade binds, not-so-funny quotes)
However, people get bans (and not gags) when:
They are VERY toxic
Use homophobic words/show homophobic behavior
Use racial slurs
and much more (Idk, I'm not a staff member)

If you think bans are pointless, you are totally wrong. We shouldn't even recruit mods if they make useless or pointless bans.
These bans are not pointless. Consider them warnings until you really learn your lessons from your mistakes. And if you get multiple bans for the same notorious reasons then don't expect not getting a perm ban.

Not all servers are the same. Remember that Jailbreak has a higher priority than any other servers when it come to bans. Specially comm and team bans
Also it's dumb to actually gag people permanently because they wouldn't be able to use commands, not even in the console while in-game (wln.tf, commands like !shop, !wear, !calladmin)

We got rules. Read them all:

It technically still kind of is pointless. Y'all could still just follow the same protocol either way, for the same offense. Both chatting and voice chatting are still both ways of communicating. If y'all gonna ban someone for being toxic or offensive through chat, ya might as well do the same thing with voice chatting. It really doesn't make that big of a damn difference. You could still be toxic or offensive, either way through those ways of communication. That's literally why muting exists too. Muting someone being something that literally ANYONE could do, if they got a problem with how someone speaks. Then people could still play the game, without having to witness that kind of speech from anyone. But no, people are too sensitive that way. To a point, they need a mod to step their game up for them, when it comes to situations like that. Only because they can't use a feature in a game, that was pretty much added for nothing at this rate.

Hypothetically, yes, we could just serve communication bans for certain offenses that we give server bans for. However, server bans are advantageous in various ways, such as ensuring the player can't cause any more issues at all and to get the message across better of what they did. Remember that playing on our servers is a privilege and if you are rule-breaking, then we have the right to take away that privilege. We don't need to necessarily adhere to what is needed to stop your rule-breaking, especially if you are a negative influence on the server.

Furthermore, no we are not leaving it up to players to just use cilent-side mute. Many players don't do that and the servers would just devolve into anarchy. This just isn't up for discussion.

Anyway, if you have any more questions, then feel free to reply within the next 48 hours. Otherwise, this thread will be closed.
