I've been banned for being an alternate account or something?

Prior I used a VPN when connecting to TF2 servers and doing other day to day tasks, however I stopped using it yesterday (it became more of a hassle than it's worth) and suddenly I'm banned. This is the only thing I can connect with my ban, because I have no other accounts.

all these accounts are connected with your ip address, how come?

I'm not sure how to appropriately respond to this, because I have as many answers as you. Again it might have something to do with the VPN I used, I'm not entirely educated on this type of thing.
